Meet Robert

Robert was born in El Paso, Texas, in 1979 and moved to Little Rock with his family in 1985. He graduated as salutatorian from Catholic High School in 1997 and earned a B.A. in Economics from Duke University in 2001.

After college, he returned to Arkansas to work for Walmart in the Sam’s Club Division as a Finance Manager, and later for Crews and Associates in Special Projects and Fixed Income Sales and Trading.

On July 19, 2003, he met his wife, Mary, on a blind date at a concert in Little Rock, and they have been together ever since, marrying in 2005. They were blessed with two children—Lucy in 2011 and Eli in 2013. Boxley, their beloved golden doodle, joined the family in 2022.

Law Career

Robert attended the University of Arkansas’ William H. Bowen School of Law, graduating with honors in 2007. While in law school, he was a member of the Law Review and served as Vice President of the Hispanic Law Students Association.

In 2015, Robert founded Tellez Law Firm PLLC to better serve the community, guided by a commitment to compassion, trust, and excellence in legal services.

He was selected by his peers as a 2019 Super Lawyers Mid-South Rising Star and was recognized as a Super Lawyer in Criminal Defense for the Mid-South in 2020, 2021, and 2022. In addition, Robert has been named to the National Trial Lawyers Top 100 in Arkansas for the past seven consecutive years.

In 2022, Robert was invited to become a Fellow in the Litigation Counsel of America, a peer-selected honorary society comprising 3,500 of the best trial lawyers in the nation—an honor granted to less than one-half of one percent of practicing attorneys.

Running for Judge

Since 2009, Robert has had the opportunity to travel across the state of Arkansas representing clients. Many of these clients are people of color. Many are low-income. Many do not speak English. As a fluent Spanish speaker, Robert is able to convey legal information and counsel in a language his clients can understand—alleviating fear and uncertainty about the legal process.

Robert’s clients need someone to advocate for them and help guide them through our complex legal system. This experience has shaped his perspective: we must continue working hard to ensure our legal system functions as it should—for everyone.

This means seeing with empathy and compassion—in other words, recognizing the humanity of every person within the legal system. It is with this vision that Robert intends to make the Pulaski County Circuit Court, 3rd Division, an even better court for the future.

Achieving this will require collaboration with the communities it serves in Pulaski and Perry Counties. It will also demand perseverance and a commitment to the principles on which our system of government was founded: mercy and justice—where the people rule.

Robert decided to run for Judge because of his deep commitment to fairness. He will listen to everyone in his courtroom and treat all people with respect. This is a non-partisan election that takes place on March 3, 2026. To win, we aim to reach every registered voter in Pulaski and Perry Counties.

We need your help to spread the word. Please consider voting for Robert and joining Team Tellez!
